A Little Life covers decades in the life of the men and it is one of the most devastating, riveting books I’ve ever read. It’s perhaps because instead of looking for some fatuous lede scene it goes straight to the most prominent aspect of Carlson (why is he always screaming?). Many years ago now!!!
